sebastian, if I am saving my pictures as jpeg I can't reopen it to work more on it. do I need to save it as .sns-format to make further adjustments?

Bei jpeg wird wie bei jedem anderen Programm ja nur das entgültige Ergebnis abgespeichert.

Bei sns bleiben dir alle Masken und Einstellungen erhalten, aber die Datei wird halt schnell sehr groß. Bei meinem Test war das zb dann eine 700mb Datei.

Ich hab mal eine alte Reihen durch die Lite Version des Programmes gejagt und ich muss sagen ich bin beeindruckt was da schon ohne Feineinstellungen und Nachbearbeitung rauskommt.

Wo andere Programme Probleme mit den Spitzenlichter hatten, ist für SNS-HDR fast kein Problem vorhanden.

Ich habe mir auch die Home-Version geordert. Die Ergebnisse der Demoversion haben mich umgehauen. Die HDR-Bilder wirken auf Anhieb viel natürlicher, ohne großes justieren. Super Sache!

Hello Sebastian (and all others),

I bought the home version today and it seems to be perfect for me.

See my pictures in the attachment. The first three are the base photos. The fourth is the one I made with Photoshop Elements 10 (like I usually did before) and the last one is done with sns HDR.

The difference is:
In PSE10 there is no auto ajustment of the pictures or layers. So I have to create one photo with the all used photos as layers. Ajust them with Elements plus, save them and then open them again to use the photomerge function.

So now I have less steps and even the result ist better because usually after the photomerge I have to adapt the contrast and the brightness. This was not necessary with sns HDR. And I didn't change anything in the preset. I just took the default values after the installation. The better result can e.g. be seen also in the upper right corner. The sky contains more details!
Now I can start playing.

So again: perfekt for me. Thanks!

Why the option "Edit In" in Lightroom is not enough?

The most time consuming part is to get the HDR image back to lightroom.
I have to save it (after I looked from which folder it comes from), the go to Lightroom and reimporting it. Other tools, like Photomatix, reimporting and stacking it with the first of the base images. It's really faster than manuall.

Oh, I didn't see this funcionality yet. Tried it, some minutes ago.
It's a good workaround, but not the same as in other tools.

SNS opens the Lightroom import dialog where I have to look in which folder I want to have it (other tools know from which folder the picture is). After import it is not stacked with one of the originals. So its later not so easy to see which pictures where the base of the HDR.

But don't worry, for the moment I can live with this.

Maybee some other Lightroom Users can tell some more arguments.

Seit geraumer Zeit nun vewende ich SNS-HDR nebenher und stoße dabei auf ein massives Farbmanagement-Problem. Ich hänge Euch in den Anhang zwei Bilder, eines ist ein Screenshot von SNS-HDR Home, das Andere ein Screenshot des selben Bildes 30 Sekunden später mit Photoshop geöffnet. Naheliegend, dass hier mit dem Farbmanagement etwas gehörig daneben geht.

Mein gesamter Workflow ist kalibriert und profiliert, sämtliche meiner anderen verwendeten Programm (Capture One Pro 6, Lightroom 3, Photomatix 4, Photoshop CS4) liefern untereinander absolut konsistente Farben und Ergebnisse, Abweichungen gibt es keine. Irgendwas also scheint beim Speichern der Datei in SNS schief zu gehen. Die Resultate im Explorer sehen übrigens denen von Photoshop gleich (unter Win7 wird Farbmanagement im Explorer unterstützt). Im Dforum gibt es mindestens einen weiteren User, der exakt der gleiche Problem hat. Er löst es damit, dass er nach jedem Update das AdobeRGB Profil von SNS-HDR durch das aus dem Photoshop-Ordner ersetzt.

Gespeichert wird das fertige Bild als 16bit Tiff in AdobeRGB (so wurde es auch in C1 konvertiert).

Sebastian habe ich schon kontaktiert und alle möglichen Materialien und Screenshots zur Verfügung gestellt, er findet leider keinen Fehler.

Wie sind Eure Erfahrungen bezüglich des Farbmanagements von SNS-HDR?

Another annoying point. To get the images from Lightroom to SNS I have to set SNS as an external Editor and the select in Lightroom the option "Edit with". Then Lightroom creates for each selected image an tif in the directory (I'm working with tif) and opens then these tifs in SNS. These tifs are populating my photo directories, and afterwards I have to delete them manually. Tools like Photomatix or Enfuse, are integrated as a plugin and there I can use the "export". Therefor the tifs are generated in a temporary directory where there are not disturbing and I don't have to care for them. Hope I could explain in my poor english what I mean.

I made some HDR test with the sns HDR tool using files in C:/temp

I have a virtual drive with the drive letter H:

My test was tho use the Photoshop Elements Editor as external editor. But I'm not sure if this is even possible.

Nevertheless:
I've created the HDR using the files from C:/Temp. The result I wanted to open in the defined external Editor. After sns HDR saves the file it appears a non readable tumbnail in the Photoshop Elements Organizer (not the Editor). Looking for the propertieries of the created tumbnail the Organizer tells me the photo is located in H:/temp. But the temp folder is not even existing.

Well I know the workflow makes no sense. But the behaviour seems to be a little bit strange.

According to my opinion, SNS doesn't have to have "gimmicks" like Ex-/Import etc. It's a great and cheap stand alone solution for HDR! One click more or less... who cares?

Sorry, but we are not blaming only a few clicks. Besides it's very time consuming when you edit many pictures, it can also be a problem when you make mistakes and put the picture from SNS in a wrong folder back. It'll be hard to find weeks or month later. It's important for me that all pictures from a shooting are kept together.
