Dear Mr. Stanzani,
may I kindly bring the following inquiry to you attention: Canon’s newly announced EOS M3 mirrorless camera is currently only listed as a kit with the EF-M 18-55 lens for the EU markets
http://www.canon-europe.com/for_home/product_finder/cameras/digital_slr/eos_m3/# whereas in Japan/Asian markets the EOS M3 is additionally also offered “camera/body only” and as kit “M3 + EVF-DC1 electronic viewfinder” – without kit lens.
As photo enthusiast and longstanding Canon client for stills imaging products I currently have a setup that includes both an EOS DSLR with an assortment of EF/L lenses and a Canon EOS M with all 4 currently available EF-M lenses, including the EF-M 18-55. I am strongly interested in the EOS M3 as well as the EVF-DC1 viewfinder as an “upgrade” to my EOS M (without viewfinder), but I have no need for a second copy of the kit lens.
Many other Canon EOS-M owners across Europe are in the same position and also do not need another kit lens with a new camera. The topic is currently in discussion in a number of photo-related internet forums, e.g. here:

It would be great if the two options mentioned above – A) M3 only and B) M3 + EVF-DC1, at an advantageous kit price – would also be offered by Canon Europe. The largest immediate target group for the M3 are undoubtedly current EOS M “upgraders”, especially since the M2 was not sold in Europe. In light of current pricing differentials, many potential customers are also considering ordering via ebay / third party vendors from Japan/Asia. So offering additional, attractively priced options would clearly be win/win/win for Canon Europe and its country organizations, European dealerships and European customers alike.
Thanks for your kind consideration and looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Best Regards,
