sorry for the English (my German is worse)
Available light with Olympus is an absolute no-go. Even with the 2.0 50mm shooting at 800 begins getting rather bad.
Olympus have excellent systems and lenses at a very atractive price but specialization is not in their I'm afraid.
I love Olympus, I am not putting the brand down, but ... for low light it really sucks...
I shot my low light with a 30D and a 50mm 1.4 lens, shooting at 1600 does not perform any big problems, at 800 things are great. try find a reasonable Oly setup that can do 800/1600, 2.0/1,4 ... you won't find it.
Oly is just not equiped for available light ... not a problem though it has its strenghts in other areas
Excuse me dear jcder, but since the introduction of the E-410 and escpecially the E-510, is your rather odd contribution obsolete. The whole noise discussion sucks! With a RAW converter like Silkypix, you can create rather clean pictures even with a camera like the E-300, which produces in deed a rather high level of noise at 800 and at 1600ISO useable pictures.
Nobody in this forum wants anymore any comparison between the noise level of a Canon or Olympus, neighter in german nor in English or any other language. By the way what´s your mother language?
If you used two systems, then you know advantages and drawbacks anyway of these two systems. To be honest, my main concern about the E-system is the slow AF. But the new E-410/510 has shown be, that although it´s only a 3 point AF, that speed improved to a competitve level. And I have criticized the sluggish AF heavily and often.
I am sure if the new E-X came, you asked yourself why to maintain two systems. The only question is, when does it come?

kind regards
