Hallo unknown stranger!

As you may have noticed there're numerous Lens Tests here in Photozone. These lenses are not supplied by the manufacturers but by users like you! So far more than 100 lenses were provided and counting!

If you're living in Europe (EU) and would like to help building up the Lens Test Report archive you may consider to loan one or more of your lenses for testing purposes. Naturally I would pay for all your shipping expenses.
You would also be eligible for a small rental fee OR a bottle of wine OR a donation to the WWF (World Wildlife Fund). If you would like to support the idea for free that would be naturally also highly appreciated (regarding the 2000+ EUR shipping and rental costs in 2005 ...).

The standard procedure would be as follows:

1. contact me first to schedule a date and clarify any questions you might have.
2. send the INSURED package via airmail (preferrably standard postal service). Usually the shipping takes something between 3-6 days within the EU.
3. once I've received the package I will test the lens(es) during the following 2-3 days before ...
4. ... returning the package to you again

It's realistic to expect a 2-3 week turnaround time for the whole procedure. If you're living in Germany it should take about ~8 days due to the faster shipping.

As you may have noticed there're only a few Canon lenses left to test such as ...

# Tokina AF 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 AT-X D

wenn also jemand die linse für 8 Tage entbehren könnte, wäre ja super. ich denke die sind professionell genug, so dass man hier voll vertrauen kann.

es war einmal ein objektiv, das war so schlecht dass es sofort wieder zurückgeschickt werden wollte....; aber das ist eine andere geschichte, die ein andermal wiederholt werden will. Jetzt geht es darum leute zu finden, die im Besitz des Objektives sind und es dem Klaus schicken können

Also, ich weiss durch persönlichen Kontakt, dass die Linse zum TEst noch benötigt wird.......................... 8 Tage ! Das kann man doch mal verschmerzen

was auch immer dies eigentlich gewesen ist: Es gibt ja Gerüchte, dass die Konkurrenz hier im Spiel war. Interessant was bei einer Glasscherbe so alles los sein kann.........

Scary Tokina 16-50/2.8 Official Sample Photos

The twin-born lens of the Pentax DA* 16-50/2.8, the Tokina ATX Pro 165 DX's official sample photos have been out:-

However, these are some of the most scary sample photos I have ever seen, in terms of the image quality, technically, no matter it is official or not.

All in all, I must agree that these are with "totally embarassing technical quality" and "the most ridiculous photo sample presentation ever" as Klaus Schroiff and other folks thought and discussed here.

BTW, do note that the sample pictures were taken with a Fuji S3 Pro, which should be a very good DSLR in terms of image quality. The images were up-sampled to 12MP, though. To view in the original 6MP native resolution of the Fuji SuperCCD, one can view at 70% to see if the evils are still there!

Aber Du greifst schon gerne auf kostenfreie Testberichte zurück, oder? Wenn jeder so denken würde wie Du, dann würde diese Testdatenbank nicht existieren.

Klaus Schroiff ist bei Leuten mit ein wenig Background im Bereich (Digital)fotografie alles andere als ein "Wildfremder". Wenn es jemand gibt, von dem Du sicher sein kannst, dass er damit extrem pfleglich umgeht, dann Klaus.

Genau. Er lässt sogar den UV-Filter drauf, sofern das Objektiv mit selbigem geliefert wurde:

In der CH ist sie aber noch nicht erhältlich.

Ist sie in DE "richtig" im Handel oder sind es erst so "Vornweg-Exemplare"?
