As you may have noticed, Adobe Systems Inc. recently acquired the technology assets of Pixmantec. Pixmantec's technology and expertise will be incorporated into Adobe's products. Specifically, some of Pixmantec's raw processing technology will be incorporated into Adobe's raw processing engine which is shared by Adobe Camera Raw and Lightroom. We, the founders of Pixmantec, will join the Adobe team, integrating our expertise into their products, and continuing to be able to serve the photographic community.

As the founders of Pixmantec, we'd like to express how gratifying it has been to see the level of support and praise we have managed to gain through the introduction of the RawShooter product line to the market. We had a vision of making top-notch raw processing capabilities truly accessible to a wide audience of photographers, and the number of devoted users that developed tells us that we made significant progress towards that goal.

Nevertheless, we also saw that we were not the only company recognizing the need for specialized photography workflow software. Specifically, Adobe a company we have always admired had for some time been working on their own workflow solution, which was announced as the Lightroom public beta program in January of this year. When we met with the folks from Adobe, we found that the admiration was mutual, and that our visions for the customer were very well aligned. Ultimately, we saw the opportunity to make a bigger impact by joining Adobe, and lending our own best ideas and expertise to the ongoing Camera Raw and Lightroom efforts.

As we work to integrate Pixmantec technology and expertise into Adobe's raw processing pipeline, we will no longer be working on new versions of the RawShooter | premium product, and have stopped selling this product. Of course, your RawShooter | premium product will continue to work and serve you well, but we also know that many of you will eventually want a software solution that you know will continue to evolve, remaining up-to-date as raw workflows and processing continues to improve. Adobe Lightroom is a product targeted at solving these evolving workflows and up to the minute raw processing. Currently in public beta format for the Macintosh platform Adobe Lightroom will be released as public beta for Windows this summer.

Lightroom is being built from the ground up to address the unique challenges of a photography-centric workflow. Not only will it offer what we believe will be second-to-none raw processing, but it is designed to provide a start-to-finish workflow solution for photographers. Offer a free download version of Lightroom 1.0 for customers who bought RawShooter | premium prior to July 12th 2006, 12 noon European Standard Time. Given that Lightroom 1.0 will serve a much broader range of functionality and will be priced at a higher price point than RawShooter | premium, we believe this represents a great value for our customers.

Adobe will investigate to what extent your image corrections made within RawShooter can be transferred to Lightroom.

We will deliver support for Canon EOS 30D In RawShooter | essentials this summer.

Es wird noch ein Update für RSE geben, RSP ist eingestellt. Das sagt die besagte Zeile aus.

Mit der Demo kannst Du 14 Tage testen. Die Grundversion kostet nur 30 EUR und ist um einige Module erweiterbar. Auch PS-Plugins funktionieren. Neu ist ein spezielles Schwarz-Weiss-Modul, was von den Anwender sehr gelobt wird. Bis auf die Ebenen-Technik kannst Du eigentlich alles damit erledigen.

Für mich ist RSP und FixFoto das ideale Gespann (siehe unten...).

Hallo Zusammen - Ich habe den RSP und wollte mir bald den Adobe PS CS2 anschaffen, bin jedoch unsicher was mir der Nutzen davon sein wird, wenn das Lightroom so toll ist, wie angekündet. Was denkt ihr? Was würdet ihr machen? Ich brauche die Software hauptsächlich zum Aufbessern der Fotos, wenig-kein Fotomontagen, Schwarz-Weiss Konvertierung (könnte im Lightroom ja ähnlich gelöst sein wie in PS) - das wärs ungefähr. Lightroom und Photoshop sind 2 unterschiedliche Paar Schuhe:
- Lightroom ist ein Metadateneditor
- Photoshop ein Pixeleditor
Das eine mit dem anderen zu Vergleichen ist wie Äpfel mit Birnen zu vergleichen.
Die Frage ist welche Tools von Photoshop und RSP tatsächlich in die 1.0 Version von Lightroom integriert werden. Das Stempelwerkzeug, das man doch öfters braucht findet man dort bisher nicht, Ebenen findet man in Lightroom ebenfalls nicht.
Wer weiterhin Beauty-Retusche machen will, wird um Photoshop erst mal nicht rumkommen.
Der Reiz liegt bei Lightroom in der Tatsache, dass es ein Tool zur nicht destruktiven Bildbearbeitung ist. Das Original bleibt unangetastet . Alleine die Metadaten werden verändert und das spart Speicherplatz und gibt Datensicherheit.


Meiner Meinung nach ist das mächtigste Tool von Lightroom die Bilderbiliothek - wer viele Fotos im Archiv hat sollte sich das mal anschauen.

jede kostenlose Software dient dazu kommerzielle Services und Produkte an den Mann zu bekommen oder leben Softwareentwickler ausschiesslich von Bits und Bytes? Um PDF's zu generieren die man mit Acrobat Reader anschauen kann braucht man keine Adobesoftware - das kann auch OpenOffice oder ein PHP-Modul.

Ja, eine der kostenlosen essentials-Version, die bislang die 30D nicht unterstützt.

So wie es ausschaut, wird es aber kein Update der separat zukaufbaren Color Engine mit Support für die 30D mehr geben ...

Ja, ich gebe es ja zu. Nach 4 Seiten oder so habe ich Bibble gegoogled, und hab den Rest des Threads nur ueberflogen, das dabei nicht gesehn. Schande ueber mich

ich habe Lightroom jetzt mal ausprobiert und muss sagen das ist die Besch...... Software die mir in letzter Zeit auf den Rechner gekommen ist.

Es gibt ja glücklicherweise keinen Zwang, auf Lightroom umzusteigen.
Solange die Kamera die man hat von RSP 1.03 unterstützt wird gibt
es keinen Grund umzusteigen. Ich bleibe bei RSP 1.03 !!

Wo ist da derTrick ?

Einen anderen RAW-Konverter nehmen. Der RSE wird nicht mehr weiterentwickelt. Es gibt also auch keine Unterstützung für Pentax K10D.
