Which 24-70 mm would you recommend?

Hi guys,

So I have a nikon d750 and I am looking for a 24 70 mm. I'd use it for small events like baptisms, kids parties, restaurant parties. I wouldn't want to pay 1800€ for a nikon, since I don't do this very often so I'd appreciate some advise about alternatives. Like 24-70 tamron or sigma? Or an used nikon?
Budget around 6-700€

maybe you can use a cheap tamron 28-75mm 2.8 Macro (without vc)
there are some old lenses at these range from other firms, but i don't know all (think there was a tokina 28-75mm 2.8, too, but not sure)

The VC of the Tamron 24-70 G1 Needs a little time for Start.
So I have to press the trigger half way. Wait a little time and then Shoot the Photo.
If I don’t do this, the photos are often not sharp.
Therefore I have switched the VC off most of the time.

I guess the G2 is better.

Used Nikons in excellent condition are about 600€.

If you are looking for a lens with VR (what I would prefer clearly) then go out for a Tamron 24-70/2,8 G2. The Nikon-Version is a lot more expensive without any benefit at all. Even with some more drawbacks.
The Sigma is good as well but a chunky piece of glass > 1Kilo. Although the Tamron G2 is also not a small-sized one the extra of the Sigma is an overkill on smaller bodies like the D750 IMHO.

If there is no need for VR then the "old" Nikon 24-70/2,8 is a very good choice.

Most older zooms with a range from 28-75/2,8 achieve good optical performance if you are not going for pixepeeping in the outer corners of the image. And even the screwdriven AF of some earlier versions are reliably on the D750. But they lack VR and 24mm at the bottom end of modern zooms are signficant less than 28mm. I prefer the 24mm for shootings as you mentioned above.
