Profile in Capture & PS nach Kalibirerung

Hello everyone,

after calibrating my BenQ sw2700 display on my macOS Ventura with a Spyder X Elite, the new profile is running on macOS.

Now two questions for Capture one and photoshop:

Capture: When I export the files (after the raw conversion to use them in the next step in Photoshop) do I activate the new color profile in the ICC panel ? Here in the example, the new one is already activated.

Regarding retouching in photoshop – Do I have to change the color profile in photoshop also to the new profile in the RGB field? Right now, there's the SRGB IEC61966-2.1 activated. In my head im like - lets change it also to the new calibrated profile right?

Die erzeugten Monitorprofile dürfen nicht in die Exporteinstellungen für die entwickelten Fotos eingetragen werden. Sie dienen nur dazu, dass die Fotos auf dem eigenen Monitor farbrichtig dargestellt werden.

Also weiterhin zum Beispiel sRGB in die Exporteinstellungen eingetragen lassen.

Your calbrated display's profile file needs to be activated in MacOS system preferences / displays - it will, well, display colours 'properly' as measured.
In Capture One the icc-profile defines the colour profile for image output, normally some sRGB for web presentation, RGB or any other profile to the recommendations of your printing lab.
In Photoshop set the 'Arbeitsfarbraum' = working colour space as wide as possible, I'd suggest ProPhotoRGB. It sets the internal processing pipe and does thereby affect the way the image will be converted to the output profile.

@parbleu ! Thanks for the insight. So Im going to export a tiff from capture one with the Adobe RGB profile. When opening this file in Photoshop for the retouching, I convert it into the ProphotoRGB when Photoshop is asking?

And when I'm finished retouching in PS i safe it for web with sRGB? When using for print, I change it to whatever the printer/lab needs?

If there's a need for AdobeRGB set it to it. If the tiff file simply serves as a 'carrier' for further work in Photoshop I immediately would set the profile to ProPhoto RGB otherwise Photoshop will ask with the 'colour space mismatch' how to handle the file. Tick the "Convert document's colours to the working space" option.

that's how to do it. For the web, squeeze it to the final dimensions and use the 'save for web' dialogue (and when closing the file, you must not 'save changes' for Photoshop will save the file in the little web dimensions - just don't ask). For print let the original size untouched as long as there might be several future versions of it.
