Sorry if I post a Nikon rumor on 43rumors but when we just got a “FT5″ rumor about Nikon that will interest many 43rumors readers. One thing we were missing until today is a mirrorless pro system with advanced cameras that can compete against the best APS-C DSLR cameras. Now the same sources that usually are sending us top Panasonic and Olympus rumors now contacted us to say that both Olympus and Nikon will announce their PRO cameras in quarter two (Nikon will announce it in April)!
I repeat it, Nikon’s new system will not compete against the low entry Micro Four Thirds cameras like the GF2 and E-PL2. I posted a few more info about the future Nikon system here: http://www.mirrorlessrumors.com/exc...-mirrorless-system-in-april-with-sony-sensor/
The good news for us Micro Four Thirds user is that usually competition brings better cameras for a lower price. Let’s hope Oly will announce something spectacular for a decent price
EXCLUSIVE: Nikon to launch a mirrorless system in April (with Sony sensor).
And finally one of the two photography giant is entering the mirrorless market! And it’s not a surprise that it will be Nikon and not Canon to announce their new system (after reading tons of Nikon patents for a whole year!).
According to our veeeeeery good sources Nikon will unveil their new mirrorless system in April! Nikon developed a very advanced (and expensive) pro system not meant for the amateur market. Nikon chose to go that way mainly for two reasons:
1) They wanted to enter the market with a non existent solution. Current mirrorless systems like the Sony NEX, Samsung NX and most Micro Four Thirds cameras (only exception may be the Panasonic GH2) are competing in the advanced beginner or amateur market. Nikons new mirrorless solution will be the first system to satusfy the Pros!
2) Nikon believes an amateur mirrorless system would not have appealed current mirrorless users and only cannibalize their very good selling entry level DSRL market.
We are currently investigating the possible specs of the first camera and lenses but one of our trusted sources already told us that Nikon will use some kind of “tweaked” Sony sensor. Nikon tested two sensors, a 16 megapixel and a 24 megapixel sensor. We don’t know yet if Nikon will use only one of those or both sensors!
We hope to can give you more details soon…
